I believe this restaurant changed their name and added to their menu. The owners may have also changed but that is unclear. It also annexed the neighboring property and is now much bigger. However, the affiliation to the original bun bo hue on Story road is unclear. It still serves a superb bun bo hue. The broth is a bit richer incorporating more shrimp paste. You now have the choice of adding more ingredients to the dish as I did with a beef rib.

One of my FAVORITE place to get authentic, delicious, affordable bun bo hue. Parking lot is a battle in terms of number of parking spaces and the actual size of the spots too, but nothing in the restaurant's control. Plenty of seating indoors and you can expect a wait on most weekends! And rightfully so. Overall, service is attentive and great. I always get a large bun bo hue and it comes with so much noodles and toppings. Also comes with a side of greens. I have not tried anything else on their menu but I would be open to trying eventually! Bon bo hue broth is very spicy, rich, deep umami flavor. Noodles are thick and bouncy. All of the meats are tender, juicy. I honestly have no complaints with the quality and quantity of food nor the service. Need to try this place or their OG shop!

As far as BBH goes, I like this restaurant. The restaurant wasn't busy when we got there and the employees were nice. What I like about this place is that they give you extra fermented fish sauce and chili if you ask. They're interesting flavors and I feel like the broth doesn't need the additional seasoning. I like pretty extreme flavors, so I added all the seasoning I could. The BBH is good. The regular variety of meats and the noodles are soft and chewy. It was good. Their dumplings were also good. I don't have much to say other than this is a solid spot. Check it out if you want some solid BBH.

Checked out this place again after a very long time and was pleasantly surprised! They now have a parklet for outdoor dining and it's kinda sweet. Lots of big plants giving you a feeling of dining in a jungle in Vietnam...Lol... In addition to Bún Bò Huế, they now serve a large variety of Vietnamese favorites and those I have sampled are very well prepared. Try the Bún Chả Cá! It's a rice noodle soup with with fish and fish paste, clear soup broth with tomatoes and pineapple. Yummy and refreshing. Vietnamese street food done right!

Delicious every visit I've been here since my childhood days. I always get the Bun Bo Hue and it's always just slightly a bit hotter than I like but I like to think it's just developing me for the final punch. It wasn't as busy as it used to be but don't let that be a turn off as most think that's a sign that a restaurant is not good. There were so many people running in and out for to-go orders and I'm sure that's because COVID. Speaking of COVID, the owners and employees were very respectful of our space and wore masks at all times. There were even tables set up outside although we opted for the warmer insides during this rainy season. Although they were busy with to go orders, they still took the time to ask us of our day and if we enjoyed our meal. It's the small things that make us feel cared for and I definitely felt that here at Bun Bo Hue An Nam. Come enjoy a bowl of Bun Bo Hue whenever you're around.

Great Viet food in San Jose! I came here on a Friday at around 1pm with a friend, and we were seated immediately! I got the combo beef noodles, which comes with the beef balls, tendon, filet mignon, and the brisket. The soup was delicious and the meats and noodles were cooked perfectly. The service was also very quick and efficient. There's plenty of parking in the area, since this restaurant is in a small shopping area. Overall, great Viet food if you're in the area!!

My boyfriend and I went here since we were craving Hue food! Although we didn't order any Bun Bo Hue, all their dishes were very solid. They have a nice outdoor seating area. We accidentally walked and sat down at the restaurant next door so don't get mixed up like us! We ordered: - banh bot loc 4/5 - banh nam 3.5/5 - mi quang 4/5 - com tam dac biet 5/5 The portions are huge and we love supporting local small business so we'll be back!

The appetizer was all delicious highly recommend getting it! The Nem Nuong Cuon was my favorite and the dipping sauce was so flavorful and goes very well with the nem nuong cuon! I was a little disappointed with the Bun Bo Hue though, it wasn't spicy enough and the flavor was just a tad bit off.

I love bun bo hue and this spot does not disappoint. I've been visiting this place every chance I get and nothing has changed. Broth is flavorful and pork always so tender. Pros: I often order take out and they always package up the food so carefully nothing ever spills on my way back to SF.
